- Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh, direct sunlight.
- Water: Water directly into the plant's central cup, keeping it partially filled. Also, water the soil when the top inch feels dry.
- Humidity: Enjoys moderate humidity. Occasional misting is appreciated.
Note: Bromeliads typically bloom only once but produce "pups" or baby plants afterward. The "mother" plant will survive another year or so after blooming but will slowly start to die. You can remove pups from the mother plant once the pups are at least 1/3 the size of the mother plant. Waiting to remove the pups gives them time to establish healthy roots. To separate a pup from the mother hold both parts gently but firmly and then begin to slowly pull the pup away, cutting the connecting stem with a sharp clean knife and carefully dislodge and roots you can. Plant the pup into well-draining potting mix. It will take about 3 years for a pup to produce its own flower.
